Android: Easier way to text internet images

I enjoy texting (via Whatsapp) images to friends but am surprised at the lengths I need to go to. Am I missing something? At the moment I need to:

- Google the image
- Open it
- Long press to bring up menu (menu doesn't contain the option to text it, so..)
- "Save image"
- Close Chrome
- Open photos
- Find image
- Tap share icon and select Whats app

Why can't I Whatsapp it directly from Google and why, once it's downloaded, doesn't it show the share icon when opened from the notification centre?
