It's ok Google patch it in 2.3.4.... Users should be able to get that update sometime next year. :D

It's been/being fixed server side.

Now, a question. With all the whining about Android related posts in the iPhone section lately, does this include negative articles about the competition or are negative articles allowed in the iPhone section?

The software patch has already been pushed to my Android phone. Plus the vulnerability was only when using a public unsecured wifi network. Something I never use.

I'm not advocating for Google, I like choices.

Nothing would make me happier when it comes to smartphones, than to have Apple equip the next iPhone with an excellent phone. One that would make clear calls like my other AT&T phones.

I clearly remember Apple hiring some antenna engineers, right after Antennagate. I hope Steve does not constrain them.

I bet they can show Apple how to pull it together.

Considering this is an iPhone/iOS forum, what's the point of this thread?

The iPhone doesn't have the same exploit, and so it doesn't really affect any of us.

Also, the issue has already been fixed on the server end, so no need to wait for any updates. Everything is good.

Hope this little "flaw" shows others how good Android is.

Don't see how, since it was a bug in some Google apps, not Android. Could've easily have happened on the iPhone as well. Unless you mean how quickly it was correctable.

Google fixed it within a day or two, without taking a week to figure out how to condescendingly explain "very complex technical issues" to "confused users", like Apple did with their location bugs.
