Hi all,

While looking for alternatives to connect securely to sites requiring TLS v1.2 and better
I found this little software which I think Is our best bet and it also is a mobile solution.
We can use our mobile phone as a wifi router / web proxy.
Enters the NetShare App.
This App creates an wifi router that allows you to share another wireless router connection
and also provides/requires for internet access the use of a proxy created by the app itself which
support connections to sites requireing TLS v1.2 and upwards :D

I think these arew very good news for all of us :D

Hi Ruonis,

Yes that's the App.
Regarding the TLS connections unfortunatelly I was being misled by Leopard Webkit
which still connects to most sites even ones using TLSv1.2 ( not everything woks ).

But I have good news I've found an alternative that really works :D

MITMPROXY - Man In the Middle Proxy
This is a software that can be installed through MacPorts and then you configure it
like any other ordinary http proxy.
One of it's features is exactly allowing to access sites with TLSv1.x when the browser does
not support it correctly/fully/at all.

I've been using it with LWK and TenFourFox 30.x.
In both cases ( especially TFF ) I'm able to navigate sites that require better encryption
for HTTPs.
TFF 30 seems to work also with many of the foxPEP optimizations but it seems faster than
TFF FPxxx.
I know it does not have all the security fixes but if you're navigating "regular" sites that should
not be a problem.

I'll try and build it in Tiger to see if we can also use it there as TFF 30 runs there too
so using it to browse the network without TLS limitations would be possible I think.

Hi voidRunner,

Yes, Netshare doesn,t work correctly with https sites. I tested it on Omnyweb, Dooble, Slimboat, Roccat and Vivaldi.
Now I'll try to work with MITMPROXY. If I've understood wright, I must install Xcode, Macports and then MITMPROXY. Or better way to install it, it's use homebrew?

Thanks! It is very interesting.
Best regards,
Ruonis
