With maybe the Wolfson WM5110 chip perhaps, I think one of the S4 variants comes with it equipped.

In any event, like to hear from those in the know about this topic.

This isn't as cut and dry as people may assume. I would submit that most people cannot tell the difference between modern DACs in smartphones.

Even if you could, would it matter? Most people use either horrible earbuds with tiny, tinny drivers or huge closed-air cans with 300% extra bass to listen to their 128 bit 44 KHz mp3 files.

Not me, that's why I posted the topic. :) Maybe I wouldn't be able to tell between DACs myself but I would like to hear from folks about this.

I probably have 25 sets of head/earphones, lots of which many never even heard other than audiophiles. :)

Then you'd be better served by visiting Head-Fi.
