Angry about "ships in 3-5 days"

It's really ridiculous that apple would promote buying it online with "fast, free shipping" and then not even ship it for 3-5 days.

Really, if they weren't gonna ship it for 3-5 days, why not just say "online ordering starts next week"?

It really feels like a deliberate screw-over by apple.

Disappointment is more like it. I went to best buy after a meeting today and would have definitely gotten one with the small line. The clerk told me I would have been golden.

Only I ordered on online at 3:45am Eastern. Traveling next Sunday and the 3:45am east order time was so I would have it for the trip. Promoting fast free shipping and doing this is a true bummer!

Should have bought in store and either cancelled online order or just returned online order.

Some people will never be happy.
 
and even worse, it's "ships in 3-5 business days" and then there is the actual delivery time.... so we're talking about 2 weeks. awesome.

Unfortunately, some folks have jobs that don't allow them to wait 3 hours in a line starting at 2 pm on a random friday.

I'll grip about it but don't have time for those games. I just wish they had said receive within 2nd week after ordering instead of fast free shipping.

oh boo hoo. you'll get your ipad. relax. at least you're getting it in the 3-5 range…everyone after you will be waiting 2-3 weeks at least.

Yeah but you know what... I'm reading posts about people's orders being cancelled!!!! So I would be happy with the 3-5 day range...

I happy with mine..

Yes, Apple doesn't want your money so they're deliberately stalling your order.
 
"Fast, free shipping" is the standard Apple Store line. It's a phrase splashed all over the Store site and always has been. Nobody had any logical reason to think "fast, free shipping" was going to be any different for the iPad 2 than when they were promised "fast, free shipping" for their 3rd-gen iPod classic in 2003.
 
Trade you my 5-7 days for your 3-5 days :D

I thought I'd be fine ordering at 5:30 am CT. Apparently not...
 
To put things into perspective: A 1,000 people died in Japan today, and even more an unaccounted for.

Yes, the iPad 2 is cool. I tried two different stores at 4:30, and they were already out of tickets. Oh well, it's not the end of the world, and I'm still alive.

Get. A. Grip.
 
Maybe you should say "Not impressed with Ships 3-5" or "Annoyed" or "Really" but angry?

But Ya Im kinda in the same boat.. Im annoyed I have to wait 3-5 days for shipment! But at least I got it ordered!

He just wants you to hand over your money and shut up.

You must have a great life if the biggest problem you have is waiting an extra 48 hours for your iPad. If you think Apple is screwing you over, then you have a right not to buy their products. People act like an iPad is a life sustaining item and it's the biggest crime in the world to deny them of it.
 
Alright people.... sorry for using the word "angry".

Obviously I'm not gonna go beat my dog or anything over this. And obviously this doesn't compare to Japan or any other actual tragedy.

i just think it's pointless to open internet orders if you have nothing to ship.

What if apple said available in-stores on Friday.... then you get there friday and they say "Here is a ticket, come back next wednesday". Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
