AS video game ideas go, it's a bit "out there".
Use a huge catapult to fling some very angry squawking birds at greedy pigs who have stolen their eggs.
But the world has fallen in love with Angry Birds.
The downloadable app for the iPhone and iPad shifted 5million copies in just six months, making it the fastest selling game the iPhone has ever seen.

Catapult to the top ... Angry Birds
The brainchild of a Swedish development company, it is marketed by Macclesfield-based firm Chillingo.
Co-founder Joe Wee, 35, said: "When it was released last December Angry Birds made a slow start but as word got round, everyone's gone crazy for it.
"It's a simple idea - just smash the pigs to pieces - but it's very addictive.
"You hear the phrase 'just one more go' used a lot in video games but it definitely applies to Angry Birds."
Chillingo have turned over £2million on sales of Angry Birds, which is 59p on the iPhone and £4.99 on the iPad.
It has been No1 in Britain and the US, but has yet to beat the Quirky Doodle Jump which raced past 5million last month.
Joe thinks Angry Birds could outdo it, adding: "We are also releasing it on Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and PS3."

There are 100 levels to clear but the real challenge for fans, aged five to 70, is to achieve an elusive three-star rating every time.
Joe said: "Try to use as few birds as possible and cause maximum carnage.
"There are a few people in the world who have done it... but not many."

That's great news!
Obviously it will be a little more money than the iPhone version. Probably fall into line with the iPad version and will more than likely be available as a download on PS3 & PSP.
How would they work it with the DS? Cartridge based? That make it much more expensive. Or does the DS have a online store too now.
