Animated wallpapers stop running?

It works when Mac goes to standard inactivity - but I also have it linked to a Hot Corner, and it is this one that is randomly not working. If I reboot the Mac it starts working again, but then at a random time usually after I go out of it, do some things on the Mac and go back to the hot corner when I'm leaving the Mac for a while.

Are there any fixes for this, apart from re-booting?

Delete them all and forget about them like a bad dream. They load the system and take up a huge amount of disk space.
