Is this bothering anyone else? I'm always have to double swipe because the first never works. You have to wait for the animation to finish even though it looks like it has. Reduce motion is on.

I mainly noticed it when closing folders and apps and wanting to swipe the screen straight away.

Had you searched before posting or even looked around this sub-forum for a few minutes, you'd know that you're not the only one annoyed by that animation delay. It has been a hot topic since iOS 7 was released.

Turn on reduced motion in accessibility settings.

Around here, we kind of group the long gaps in touch response in as part of the animations issue, as they tend to follow an animation of some sort.

But yes, it's terrible, and as of yet, there's no fix.

Turning on Reduced Motion turns off most animations.

What specific animations are annoying you?

Oh boy. Are we going to re-re-rehash all the animation and delay things already under discussion in at least a few ongoing animation-related threads?

Might I ask...how long is the delay?

Seems like long enough to not register at least one swipe from the user to go on to the next page or do dorm thing else.

I understood that point.

No sarcasm or criticism intended...I'm just wondering how long (in time) one must wait for that swipe to achieve it's ends.:)

When I unlock the phone into a message, the keyboard is open, and I start typing... I type around 2-4 characters before it starts responding to my touch at all. Of course, even just missing 1 messes it up. I can easily type 6 if I do it more quickly, once the keyboard is displayed.

Timed, probably 1.5-2.0 seconds from the moment I unlock (finger is released from unlock screen). Things show up much quicker than that, though, even if you can't interact yet.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.:D
