Hi, is there a way for me to either:

a) play mkv file animus on the iPad with the styled subs
or

b) convert the mkvs quickly to mp4 or burn in the subs in their style so they work?

i tried handbrake with 'burn in' but it didn't keep the styling. any other solutions? also the font on handbrake was way too big.

thanks guys please help us out!!

try oplayerhd lite first

if it's ok
u can purchase other video players that can play your mkv files directly

i tried avplayerHD and ECplayer... both display the subs but not with styling and miss out a few subs from time to time which is annoying as hell. i'll try oplayer lite now but i expect the same.

tried oplayer. it used its own font for the subtitles which was not very good. didn't like it much at all tbh, slightly better than avplayerhd.

any other suggestions?

If you use a java applet called BDsup2sub to convert the subtitles into an IDX VOBSUB file, you can remux it back into the MKV and Handbrake will convert it with the correct stylings.
