My first experience with the animoji is kind of disappointing. After setting up face id, I went to test the feature with the animojis.

For some reason, all of them are frowning and look mad... :/ this is kind of a bummer, because I’m not doing the gesture.

I have to really try and exaggerate my face in order for them to look normal.

Anyone else having this issue?

Here's a theory: your eyelids may be drooping (and eyebrows) or your face may be tired. Try it when you wake up in the morning. Report the results back.

that’s the example, literally just have a neutral face. you gotta trust me, i don’t look mad or anything haha

Man I was hoping there was some info on this may iPhoneX just now starting doing this very recently after Ive had it for over a year with not experiencing this. Having your same experience with having to over exaggerate my smile just for my face the animoji to look the normal way, except that it didn't do the frown when it was New. Sucks u can use this feature properly. You ever find a solution or at least a reason? Guessing it's a camera software glitch
