on the feral radar they made a mistake i think. one of the orange blinking balls shows just text. Anno 1404.

i played the older titles years ago. these games are really fun. i have to say that i am interested in the way feral works and chooses the games they port for mac.

anno 1404 came out in 2009. so there is anno 2070 as a modern games of this series out now. why is feral choosing the 4 year old game? they will offer it for a compares to pc high price. i understand that cause of the afford they have porting this game. but why not choose the newer one?

why not choose GTA5 or other complete new games. i would pay that money for sure if the games were more state of the art.

so at the end we have to stay tuned maybe maverics will bring new features helping porters to take advantage of newer gpu and system stuff so they can choose newer games to port.

cheers

Feral has a brand called "Feral Classics" in which they port older titles for less. It'll likely be $29.99, like Sid Meier's Pirates at launch.

why is feral choosing the 4 year old game?

I can think of few reasons:
  • great games are still great even 4 years after release

  • better late that never

  • even Intel GPUs can run it with decent settings

  • performance gap between Win and Mac version can be wider
-> less time spend on port optimalization (my speculation)

  • less hassle with Win version publisher (my speculation)
