Skype is assigned to desktop 2. I am working on desktop 1. When skype, or any app that is assigned to a dekstop launches, Lion automatically brings me to their respective desktop.

Wouldn't it better to have an option to disable this (is there a terminal command for this?), or better yet, bounce the app icon once in the dock so i know it's open and ready in another desktop? As a person with lots of apps assigned to different desktops, this is a particularly annoying problem.

I agree. There used to be a Terminal command that disabled this in Leopard, but it stopped working mostly in Snow Leopard. I don't think it would work in Lion.
