I've got a 16GB G1 Touch and want to upgrade to a 32GB but now I find the 2Gs won't charge on my speakers or in my car (and, now I think of it, my Power Monkey). Is there any way round this? Can I get a new 1G?

Really p****d off.

If it won't work on the 2G but did on the 1G then the charger is more then likely Firewire-based, and as of the 2G touch no iPods support Firewire anymore. You'll have to track down a refurbished 1G on the Apple Online Store.

My Griffin charger (Firewire based) in my car was bought for my old firewire iPod and it charges my iPhone fine and thats USB only.

Is it a 3G or the original? Your sig suggests it's the original, which if I'm not mistaken did support firewire, but for charging only (not syncing).
