Annoying AirPods Pro connection problem

So I dont know if this is supposed to work like that but:

I have the celular apple watch. When I go out and listen tomusic and I leave my iphone at home, as soon as I am near my home the airpods pro instantly connect to my iphone and of course the music from my watch stops playing. Its very annoying. I get that it would do that if I play any media on my iphone, but its not even unlocked


is this supposed to work like that?

I even enabled in settings that AirPods only supposed to connect to phone when last connected
