Annoying beep while in video conference via iChat

When my brother and I are talking on ichat in video mode...there is a constant tone going off in the background. It's neither one of us surroundings. Has anyone else experienced this...or know how fix it>?

does it sound like a feedback? i.e. sound from the speakers being picked up by the microphone, amplified and sent back to the speakers, being picked up, etc.

Try using a headphone to see if that solves the problem.
