Since the last FF updates "48.0.1, 48.0.2" Using FF's default start page I keep getting this annoying Google Play popup every time I start FF or open a new tab.
So far any attempts to ditch it have failed, I'm curious, am I alone with this problem or have others seen it and hopefully have found a solution?
Another odd thing is that while I can change my startup page to say "Google.com" and that works, opening a new tab insists on the FF default page complete with popup.
And yes I've set the normal settings to get New Tab to open with Home Page.

You went into General and removed all of that, right? Also never hurts to check your addons and extensions in case something unwanted slipped in.

Extensions , thanks for the tip.
A FF extension (classic old style) had a Tab setting to open new tabs with FF default homepage, so I managed now to get tabs to open however I chose.
Still no explanation for the FF homepage having that Goggle play popup.
