Hi,

For some weird reason, since yesterday, out of the blue, the fonts on my browsers( both Safari and Chrome) appear to be bold , it's really annoying when reading gmail . What is going on and how can I set it straight?

I have reset SMC, reset PR, cleared out cookies, what else do I need to do?
Perhaps I unknowingly touched some key combos?

I did something similar, i disabled a lot of fonts in font book. My advice would be to take a peep in there and enable everything then restart your apps or reboot.

Thannks Ddyracer,

you put me on the right track, I went to Font Book disabled Arial Bold,
Everything is well now. Thank God.:D
I still wonder why it was enabled unkowningly somehow and also what if some app or web page requires this font, wouldn't disabling it make it not available?

Wow, disable? Kinda the opposite what i did to fix my issue.

I wouldnt poke around Font Book unless there are duplicates and it can resolve duplicates itself which is probably whats happening.
Adobe and Microsoft products install additional fonts which may conflict with the system fonts.

Best way to clean up a font issue, is to clear the font cache with Onyx. you can run just the font cache cleaning utility and it should resolve your problems without harming additional system fonts.
