Annoying gap in dock

I have had this minor but annoying problem with my dock (10.7.5). There is a gap where I deleted an App about two years ago. Please see screenshot. It is like having a missing tooth. Any suggestions to how I can remove this gap? Thank you.

I see nothing unusual. If you are talking about that dividing line, it's always there.
