Really annoying thing in InDesign.

Using the Quark shortcuts in indesign it lets me move items a very short distance by holding down the alt key and using the arrow directional keys.

But when i do this in Indesign shortcuts it duplicates what I have selected.

Does anyone know a way around this as i want to change to indesign shortcuts but things like this are so annoying, and a bit dangerous in artworking terms!!

p.s. i've looked on mac help and their only answer is in the preferences units & Increments i'm looking for another way?????????

You can change almost any shortcut in InDesign using Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts. The option-arrow shortcuts you mention are in the Product Area "Object Editing".
