annoying iphoto problem

there's probably a simple solution to this, but i haven't found it. i have all my photos arranged by date, so the newest photos are up the top, oldest down the bottom. This is all good, but when i want to start a slideshow, they begin at the newest photo, in other words, from the end, and work its way to the beginning. i've tried everything and can't figure out how to fix it anybody know how to? btw, it's iphoto 5.0.4.

When you have made an album/slideshow, you can drag the thumbnails into the order you want.

You have the option to manually resequence in slideshow, but my assumption is that you have too many to do that.

Rename all your photos by date, then create an album containing the photos you want in the slideshow, then try resorting your album by either date or title, then create a slideshow from that album.
