Annoying issue with WIFI

I am in my hotel room using my ip2 and step away for a few minutes. Upon my retun my ip2 has gone to its lock screen an has disconnected from wifi forcing me to reestablish my wifi connection...password and all.

Is there something i con do to the ip2 to keep it's wifi connection even if it has gone to tHe lock screen?

How about increasing the time of the autolock under Settings?
