One of my favorite features of earlier versions of Mac OS X (IIRC around Tiger or Panther) was that windows of new apps do *not* pop above all other app windows if you switch away to another app while the new app took a long time to launch.
Annoyingly, since sometime after Leopard (or maybe a version or two before), Apple made it like Windows, where newly launched app windows always took over the focus when they finished loading and appeared, interrupting whatever you were doing.
Example of old behavior:
1. Launch the slow-loading app, bounce bounce
2. Switch to TextEdit and continue using it
3. App A window appears behind TextEdit after it loads
Example of new behavior (Leopard):
1. Launch the slow-loading app, bounce bounce
2. Switch to TextEdit and continue using it
3. App A window appears in front of all other windows
Is there any way to restore the old behavior? This would be really helpful for those of us still on slower Macs.
