annoying problem when imac wakes from sleep mode

This is not a huge problem but when new imac wakes from sleep mode a certain folder on desktop always pops open on screen(shaded in black) its name is always highlighted red. Have to always close it before I can proceed with anything. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
