I'm having a slight problem with Finder, and it's quite annoying. When I right-click and select new folder, it doesn't let me rename it immediately. I have to press enter first. The strange thing is, it only does this in List view. All of the other views let me rename the folder immediately after I select 'new folder' on the context menu.

Is there a way to fix this?

I had the same problem a while back when I was trying to rename files/folders in a folder containing a bunch of avi videos. I realized that finder kept trying to display the thumbnails for each video, and once one was rendered, it would de-select the item I was editing.

What kinds of files and how many are in the folder that you're creating new folders in?

For the record - I can create new folders in list view and it highlights the name as soon as I can create it.

Using any hacks?
