I have a Studio Max with Monterey with an external SSD and several HDs, connected directly and through a hub with USB 3.
Every time a new file is written to those HDs or SSD, the icon on the desktop briefly changes to the blue general folder and back again.
The (Western Digital) HDs turn themselves off automatically after about a minute of doing nothing and are restarted a few seconds later. To avoid that and keep them constantly running I use Amphetamine, that helps but now every few seconds the icons of the HDs change on my desktop. Around Christmas maybe nice but now mostly annoying.
Changing the 'write interval' of Amphetamine from 10 to 60 seconds changed nothing.
Does anyone know how I can do something about this though?
