I recently had to remove the Logitech drivers and control panel (LCC) from my Mac after a series of kernel panics they were causing (seems to clash with some of the recent updates to 10.4.) The mouse still works, but now I no longer have the kind of granular control over its functionality I used to enjoy, and Logitech has discontinued this mouse so I don't think the driver will be updated.
One of the problems I'm encountering is acceleration in Safari when using the scroll wheel. With the Logitech drivers installed, it was a flat, fast speed. Without the drivers, Safari seems to want to do this wonky thing where it tries to figure out how fast I want to go and accelerate the scrolling based on how much I'm moving the scroll wheel. (Apple does some great design and UI stuff, but sorry, this is just over-thinking something painfully simple.) So now I have to do these enormous finger motions just to scroll through a page with the scroll wheel whereas I used to be able to do one or two easy movements.
Anyone know of a program I can use or a plist I can edit to stop Safari from doing this? It doesn't happen in any other application, just Safari.
Secondly, I've lost the ability to use the scroll wheel click as an Apple+click which was also very convenient in Safari for opening links in other tabs.
