1. Select a photo in the Photos app.
2. Tap Message
3. Tap in the text input area to begin entering text to the right of the photo.
4. Start entering text. Once the text flows to the next line (after the first character), the cursor jumps back to the beginning of the word. So, if you type "Hello" immediately following the picture, the text comes up as "elloH"

Anyone else? Bug reported to Apple.

Confirmed. Did it for me, too. Strange. Is this new to 8.1.2?

Annoying, but to work around it, just hit return before starting to type.

This is not new to 8.1.2, as I'm still running 8.1.1 and just tried it. The text did indeed come up as "elloh" instead of "hello"

Annoying "text jump" bug whe sending a photo via SMS

Noticed the same thing on 8.1 using the stock keyboard. If autocorrect catches the mistake though it fixes it for me sometimes.

But using SwiftKey's swiping input put it in fine. My guess is autocorrect fixes it before entering the word.

Still no excuse though for something that should not be happening in the first place.

Has been this way since 8.0. I just press return after selecting the picture. Would be nice if apple fixed it though.
