Hey guys,

Is it just my touch? Whenever I see "the incredibles" on my ipod touch, i can see a decent amount of jagged edges. for example, the red dot on mr. incredible's earlier outfit (the blue one) is very pixelated on the edges. I downloaded the movie through itunes. Is the quality supposed to be like that? (after all, it only has so many pixels) or is my touch spitting out ****** video?

thanks

Ya thats normal. Red has always been one of the hardest colors to reproduce due to its low wavelength. Red in compression algorithms seems to always take the blunt of the compression. Just watch Star Wars: A new hope on dvd. The part with the 2 suns and luke is looking out. Same effect. Some Decoders do better than others. I doubt the ipod has a high end decoder to help smooth that out. Technical reasons, i really dont know the exact details of this phenomenon.

I see.

But it doesn't show the jagged edges
on my laptop lcd.
So it can't be the encoding.

Or am I missing something?
I want to know

Thanks
