Ever since the update to version 7 of iTunes when playing music from my iPod on iTunes I get the "The iPod [iPod Name] cannot be updated. The requested file is in use." error every 5 minutes or so. I have the latest software version and the issue happens both on my 5G 30 GB video and my wifes 5G 2GB Nano.

Unfortunately these are both out of warranty. Anyone have a suggestion on this?

I upgraded to Vers 7.1 of iTunes with the same results.

Do you have you ipod set to manual and do you have the music files on your HD or only on the ipod?

I use to get those message(podcast only though) when I connect my ipod to itunes but you are saying you play the tunes on your ipod...ummm

Might have to give it a restore but only if you got your music on the HD.

Your issue with your iPod is somewhat different than my own, but still rather close. If you want to read about the issue I had and how it was fixed, you can find it here;

The solution I got from Applecare is at the end of the thread.
