Another 2015 vs 2016 Question: Iris 6100 vs 540/550 GPUs

I've searched many times to no avail, so I'm hoping someone here has found a resource or knows the answer to this question: How large of an improvement is the Iris 540/550 found in the 2016 13" MBP as compared to the Iris 6100 in the 2015 models?

Gaming is presumably not such a viable thing with either, but I'm curious as to the difference in performance (raw benchmarks with the Mac hardware), as well as realistically when (as in, what scenarios) it would matter anyway?

I own a 2015 13" model (3.1GHz i7 w/16GB Ram). Port issues aside, I'm trying to figure out if there's any scenario in which upgrading to the non-TB 2016 MBP makes sense.

I dont have time at the moment to grab some benchmarks, but your proabably looking at around ~40-50% improvement in gaming.

Note however, that a 50% improvement over bad is still bad. I highly recommend NOT upgrading for the (still not enough) GPU increase.
 
6100 to 550 is at least a 60% boost in gaming, in some games eve higher. Despite what some say, that does at least make newer games playable. It brings games like Doom 2016 from ~20fps to 30+fps, or Overwatch to over 60fps.

Don't fool yourself, it's not a gaming machine, but in a pinch it's at least possible.

I personally wouldn't upgrade from a 2015 just for this, but it would totally depend on your use case.
 
The performance when connecting to a 4K display (via display port for 60hz) is SIGNIFICANTLY better on the 550 vs 6100 in my opinion.
