I have to agree with you sure faster Internet speeds would be great but its not that big of a deal. If I had to choose between 3g and edge I would take edge, I would rather have a slow connection than nothing at all when outside of a 3g area.

ok... so for the 500th time..... 3g is backwards compilable with older technology (EDGE, GPRS) ... if you're outside of a 3g market, it will revert to what ever is in the area....

Thats great I didnt know that. Still I'm in no rush to get 3g, any next generation iPhone will need to offer more than that for me to rush out and replace my iPhone.

its going to be better than it would be if we had 3g from the start. I wonder how more efficient the new chips are...

Same argument was used against EDGE when it came out.

You obviously don't understand the technology -- when HSDPA is not available, it down-shifts to UMTS and then to EDGE -- whatever is available...
