I have a 2011 MBA which is great. My concern is that right out of the box it had a few cycles on the battery.
Today, almost a year later it has 40 cycles and just 92% capacity.
Is that normal and is there anything I ca do to ensure a good future battery life?

Thanks

Normal. Plenty of threads on this already.

No. Use your computer without worrying about meaningless things like battery life. Batteries can be replaced. You won't be able to credit any of your "battery saving" measures with extending the life of your battery anyways.
