Yesterday you guys were so great at helping me downgrade my iPhone from 4.0.2-4.0.1.:D

When I was jailbreaking my phone I was never asked to save my SHSH files/blobs?

At the top of the Cydia Home Screen it says: "This device has a pending TSS request"

What does that mean?

Should I be saving my SHSH blobs/files to computer?

And is Tiny Umbrella the way to go to do this?
(Please be specific)

Thanks for putting up with my dumb questions...

Apple is no longer signing 4.01.

If your request was pending, and you did not use tiny umbrella, then chances are you did not get your blobs saved

If you show a request pending then you are in good shape. It always takes a few days to show the Blobs available on the Cydia screen.

Well, according to common knowledge, and the tiny umbrella creator, this is not true. I quote:

Apple has stopped signing 4.0.1 and 3.2.1 SHSH requests for all devices now. If you missed your chance - I'm sorry. There's nothing that can be done now. If you had a 'Pending TSS Request' and DID NOT use TinyUmbrella to save your SHSH then I'm afraid you may not have your SHSH's saved on Cydia. If you DID use TinyUmbrella to save your SHSH then it's guaranteed that Cydia has your SHSh and is just processing them locally before they show up on your Cydia Home Page.
I'll be updating TinyUmbrella in the next day or so to reflect the new 4.0.2 / 3.2.2 defaults even though this iOS version is completely worthless...

I always use TinyUmbrella in addition to having Cydia save them just so that I have a local copy on my computer as well as on saurik's server (I believe that is where they are stored). Use TU next time to be safe.

So,in layman's terms.(bear with me please)

Since I missed my chance to save my SHSH blobs/files...

What does that mean exactly?

What that means is if you start having trouble with your phone, it freezes, or anything that you cant fix, and you have to do a restore, you will NOT be able to restore back to 4.0.1. You will be forced to restore to 4.0.2., which at the moment is not jailbreakable.

I suggest you install only what you need from Cydia, try not to experiment with too many programs, because if something messes up and you end up having to restore you wont be able to jailbreak until someone comes out with a jailbreak for 4.0.2, which no one will bother doing until Apple releases 4.1...

That's what I thought. Thank you!
Before I posted this I downloaded TinyUmbrella..and tried to save SHSH

I got this message when I clicked on Available SHSH's

The following devices can be restored safely:

iPhone 3GS 4.0 (8A293)
