Hey... I tried running the strings command in terminal at the ipod firmware updater and the some of the output were these two lines:
Oops! Ha ha! You tried to fool me by dragging a file that wasn't a firmware file! But I caught you! I'm not uploading this to the iPod!

WTF.... what the hell is that???

Could be, but the message doesn't necessarily suggest that. It looks more like an error that would occur if someone tried to load a file as firmware that wasn't a valid firmware file at all. I think Linux runs on all iPod models, doesn't it?
