I am ready to order my new iMac I decided on the Vega GPU and a 512 SSD, I will be getting 32GB of ram for OWC. The last decision is the processor. I use Lightroom, Photoshop & Xplane as the most processor intense applications. However a lot of the time I use the computer for web surfing and reading emails. Electricity is very expensive where I live so if I get the i9 will my computer be drawing substantially more watts that the i5 for my web surfing activities. All I could find on the Apple web sight are the specs for a fully loaded iMac

27-inch Retina 5K display, 3.6GHz Intel 8-Core i9, 64GB 2666MHz DDR4 SDRAM, 3TB Fusion Drive, AMD Radeon Pro Vega 48 with 8GB memory, Power Consumption
Idle 71W CPU Max 262W
Any guesses how the i5 would differ?

I currently have a 2015 27" iMac with a i5 3.3GHz processor and a R9 M395 GPU, what percentage more power would the i9 use

They are both 95W chips, and have a limit on them, so they will both be drawing the same amount of power.

The gains are in the £360 difference when purchasing it.
