another iCal sync problem

I've looked in other threads and haven't found this specific problem, was wondering if anyone else has experienced it. My iphone is syncing to mm and vise versa but ical and mm are not syncing in either direction. The frustrating part is that if I add events in either the iphone or mm they will be erased from both because they are not in ical. All my events were imported on my initial sync with mm. I can't seem to figure this out.
