I've done this before but I just have to brag and post my general happiness. We've all see the "people don't post when things work well" replies, so here is one...
My wife volunteered us to create a slideshow for our daughter's pre-k program. This turned into 3 different slideshow--one with 230 pictures, 5 songs and two with 130 pictures and 3 songs each. We need to produce about 40 DVDs, all with printed labels.
What a weekend...the combo of iPhoto '08, iMovie HD 6 and iDVD '08 worked perfectly. Basically no hickups. No reboots, not one crash. I still find it simply amazing that I was able to do this much work on my C2D iMac.
We had photos with Ken Burns integrated iMovie themes set to appropriate points in the music, audio ducking, chapter markers, etc.
Thanks to Apple and the iMac, Mac OS X and iLife teams for giving us these excellent tools.
