Another question regarding my iMac G3 350... is there any way possible to install OS X Tiger on the internal CD-ROM drive even though the disc is a DVD? I know it's probably a no, but I have to try...

Thanks! :)

A plain ol' CD-ROM drive can not, under any circumstances, read a DVD.

I figured that, but I had to try. Sooo, anyone know the best site I can get one for cheap? A DVD-ROM drive would do just fine. I don't need a burner. I checked New Egg, but could only find your standard desktop drives.

I am sure when i ordered the Tiger upgrade from the web site, it asked if i would like Tiger on a DVD or CD.

You're right, they don't seem to have any slim DVD-ROM drives. But they do have Combo drives starting at about $50.

Edit: no idea on compatibility though.

I have TIger on an external hd with firewire and I load it into my G3 iMacs that way.
