Can anyone tell me if memory from a G5 will work in my mini ? Its a stick of 1gb , Kingston KTA-IMAC400/1G.

I've tried to find out but had no joy . Can anyone help a newbie ? :D

Short answer - yes.

Long answer: The KTA- series of Kingston RAM are made for Macs, they have the SPD settings correctly set. Although the Mini technically requries only PC2700 (333 MHz) DDR RAM, you can use PC3200 (400 MHz) in it just fine.

Kingston RAM with part numbers KVR- are their generic ValueRAM series, and are not tested for Mac compatibility.

Thanks

When I was looking into a Mini they guys at the Apple store told me never to open up the mini by myself, I guess it was sealed wierd to prevent screw heads from being all over the outside. Anyways, I don't know about the RAM, but I would look into opening that thing up, it could void the warranty.
