hi again, all!
I'm tearing hair again, trying to mess with some partitions on an internal (not Boot) drive.
please take a look at the attached screenshot, will you?
"AV Arch" used to be 1 TB, I downsized it to 750 GB. That worked, but I'm now trying to enlarge "SoftArch" from 500 GB to "750 GB" and I can't because it seems that, even though "AV" was successfully reduced, it seems to still be holding on to about 250 GB of space - the space that "Soft" would need to expand?
any thoughts?

You cannot add free space to the beginning of a partition. What you would need to do is back up the partition you want to enlarge (you do have a backup right?). Delete that partition and then create a new partition at the size you want it to be. Then you would restore your data.
