Hi All,

Been using this Replacement Mid-2012 MBP for a few weeks now, its great, works fine, and USB3 is nice :)

Its only got 4gb of RAM though, and my previous MBP had 8, and its getting to me that i don't have 8 now. Slowing down a fair bit, especially when using VM's, and with lots of apps working at the same time :(

My question is, Do i get a 8Gb kit, with 2 4GB sticks in, or a Single 8Gb stick, which is CHEAPER and then keep a 2GB in as well for a total of 10GB. I know in the past it was the amount of RAM that you have, which mattered. But i'm not sure where Dual Channel's and the like are at on the new machines.

Cheers

Simon

2c. if you're going to bother to buy RAM you may as well go for 16 now. It is so cheap and will future proof your machine likely for the remainder of your ownership of it.

edit:
beaten like a red headed step child...

But yeah, especially for VMs, 16 is the go.

You guys suck i was trying not to buy 16gb :p

But i did anyway so just brought a 16gb GeIL set :)
