What's up with this guy? Did Apple ruin his life or something?

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/andrewkantor/2006-04-13-boot-camp_x.htm

But the notion put forward by some Mac folks — that Boot Camp will improve the Mac's position in the business and gaming marketplace — is backward. Instead, it's more likely to convince Mac users to switch to Windows once they've used it long enough to be deprogrammed.

Seems like he is the one who needs to be deprogrammed.

What an idiot. I like where he claims that a mini with a keyboard, a $150 monitor, and XP, would cost $1,100. Just like the rest of the column, it doesn't add up.

My frequent lament: people like Kantor are actually paid by large and theoretically respectable publications to write such mindless trash.

Too true.. Roanoke isn't too far from me, maybe I could egg his house. :)

I certainly couldn't ask you to, but it would make me feel a little better to know it had been done. ;)

Seriously, the market for freelance tech writing has almost completely vanished over the last couple of years. You'd think that the stuff still being published would be the cream of the crop. Then you read a piece as lame as this one, in USA Today no less, and one has to wonder how he got through the door ahead of anyone.
