Another Return Policy

Hi guys, I purchased a 15" on 5/22, my last day to return was last Friday and I had to leave town at the last minute and didn't get back until today. I had every intention of paying the restocking fee and upgrading to the 17" MBP. Is it even worth attempting to try this? I was told on another forum to talk to the manager and see what they are willing to do, but thought you all might know a little more.
