Ah well.

Got a Samsung screen in my CTO Retina MBP, it's a bright Samsung screen, but the right side is warmer/yellower than rest of screen.

Give up? Not sure yet.

/Really wish Apple made an IPS display that didn't have these issues, Retina resolution is pointless. :(

To give you an idea:

Next to my iMac

Next to another Samsung Retina MBP in BestBuy (mine is on the right, noticeably dimmer)

Yea, I'm probably giving up. Keeping this thing. It's not perfect.

Yea, right up next to my iMac display, this Retina display is really really bad.
By itself, for a laptop display, it's good enough.

/Lowering reasonable expectations.

Understandable, but many (most?) people are not experiencing any problems with their display. That's not to dismiss the problems you have and imo, your best bet is to contact apple and get it exchanged.

I had that one...

Yessssss, I had have that MBP, and it was absolutely same. Lower part of right side was warmer. I bought a retina, but it seems there are some "patch" in the white screen... :)))

Also, noticing significant keystroke lag in Safari when on MacRumors Forums.

Just lag in general, but I knew what I was getting myself into.

Now that you added the pictures - I personally cannot tell the difference between the two side-by-side rMBPs.

Made a genius appointment today so will see if they're able to send a replacement.

I tried two different rMBP's and both had some sort of uneven yellow/gradient to one side. I am pretty particular when it come to color shifts like that and it bothered me constantly. Returned and sticking with my Air for a while.
