Will be buying my first Macbook Pro following today's announcement and keep changing my mind as to which configuration to go for.
My uses are mainly Office and web browsing, with occasional photo and video editing. I'm also going to be running both my iPod and iPad from it. I'm considering which upgrades to go for, as I want to future proof the machine (windows machines have lasted me about 2 years each before they got unbearable to use, so I want something that will last.)
I've decided on the 256GB SSD as I will probably buy an external hard drive later regardless, so I'm not worried about filling that up. The upgrades I'm considering are the i7 processor and the 16GB RAM. I can afford both, but would prefer to only spend £1300 (eligible for educational pricing) so that would limit me to a one or the other choice. Which of the upgrades would be the better option, or would both be worthwhile? Part of me is thinking that it would be overkill for my needs.
Thanks
