I have an early 2009 unibody Macbook with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo and 4GB RAM. When it was just under 3 years old, the battery started to swell and I received a new one through Apple. Given it has a practically new battery, I was thinking a SSD could keep it relevant for a few more years given it has a new battery. I really only use it for internet (youtube), Photoshop CS5 and some mild gaming. What do yall think? Would a solid state help given what I do?

Intel currently running a rebate on their new 330 series hard drives. $15 off a 60GB drive and $60 off a 180GB drive. At newegg this would make the 180GB $140 after rebate. Considering my Link Speed is 3 Gigabite, I was thinking a 320 might be better off for me than a 330 series Intel SSD (given a 320 is SATA II and 330 is SATA III) but even without the rebates the 330 is still cheaper than 320. Why is this? Are the Intel 330 units not as good as the older 320?

When going through my system profiler, under Serial S-ATA, I noticed my Negotiated Link Speed is 1.5 Gigabite while the Link Speed is 3 Gigabite. How can I change this?

Thanks,
Brian
