Hi there
I'm not very technical so please bear with me.
My network now consists of two MBP's,a T Machine, printer and ext H Drive.
I have the printer and ext connected via usb to the T Capsule.
Can I have all data stored on the Ext H Drive and have the T Capsule back that up as a safety measure.
I think it's possible but I don't fully understand what I've read on the web.
Thanks for reading and for your assistance.

Please?

If you connect the external drive, is that drive listed in the "exclude from backing up" list? If so, I guess you should remove that and exclude your Macintosh HD from the backup, it theoretically should work. I'm not that sure though.

If would be a very poor backup method if the cause for data loss was a house fire or theft of the equipment. I think you might want more than one external drive as a backup and then rotate it with another that is kept in another building.

As we prefer to operate in with mbp's with fairly small on board hard drive space, can the TC back up data stored on an external hard drive, which will itself be connected to the TC via usb?
