I have a Dual Processor G5 running Tiger and when I boot I am not hearing the startup sound or seeing anything on the monitor. After a few minutes the fan slowly starts spinning faster until it sounds like a car going 60mph.
Last night I let the drive go to sleep, something I normally don't do, and when I went got back on it had locked up. I did a restart and it came back up for a few minutes and I was online like normal but the fan speed problem started and locked it up. This morning it won't even show anything on the screen as stated above. The Apple Store said it might be the video card and wants me to bring it in. I will replace the entire guts myself if I have to before I bring the computer into a store. Anyone have ideas of what might be wrong? Thanks.
