hey guys. so the antenna casing on my laptop (the black band that spans the back of the computer) has been peeling away due to heat, and last week it finally created a crack. the crack is steadily getting worse, and i now realize that i have to replace it.

does anyone know how much replacing that casing will cost? i need to decide whether getting that fixed will be worth it from a pricing standpoint.

thanks!

It was $39 [plus tax] for labor at my local Apple Store. The part was $10 (on the repair order), but they didn't charge me for the part.

I think the reason they didn't charge for the part was they didn't know the price on it when they gave me a repair estimate.

wow, that's awesome. i had heard that the whole panel might have to be detached, which would skyrocket the price.

one more question: were you under applecare when you got that part fixed? my computer is well past applecare coverage, so i just want to know if your pricing was discounted.
