I'm getting ready to upgrade my 07 MBP w/ matte screen for the refreshed ones released today, but I could have swore that the anti-glare option was less than $135 on the previous models. Or am I not remembering correctly?

The pricing is the same. It's $150. Maybe $135 is with a corporate discount or something?

That's interesting. Only cost me $50, but that's for the 17". Guess they figure that one costs enough as it is...

I think it is because you are bumping up to the higher resolution screen in addition to the matte finish.

Thanks guys. I may have forgotten about the high-res display. IIRC, before the high-res display it was a $50 option. Once they added a better display the price increased. And that's using a corporate discount.

Order placed! Can't wait to replace my nearly 4 year old machine!

Let us know how you like it compared to your previous MBP.

I am considering upgrading from my mid 08 MBP (non-unibody).

I love this machine, but it is approaching my upgrade cycle trigger. Same price for almost double the speed, and close to 3 years of ownership.

It's very annoying how you have to go to the higher resolution just to get a matte screen. Why can't they offer the matte option with the lower resolution?

Ha! I've got you beat. I'm replacing a nearly 5 year old machine. :)

Funny how I'm replacing a 2.33GHz machine for a 2.3GHz machine, yet it will probably be 10x faster.

Does the antiglare mbp, has silver framed screen?
I click on 'antiglare' option in http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/specs.html
and I see something like that.
Is this true?
What about keyboard? Silver too?

I was in an Apple Store yesterday. The 17" anti-glare had the silver framed screen, but the same black keyboard. So I expect the same with these new machines. The framing will be different, but nothing else.

Just the frame.

FYI folks, last-gen dual core i7 with the high-res anti-glare screen in the clearance/refurb section on the AS is $200 cheaper than the new entry level machine with the same screen.

In case your budget is tight like mine.

Damn!

They changed the refurbished price from $1729 to $1999!

Edit: The page is being updated frequently, looks like there is a big demand for the last gen.

What is the maximum screen resolution for 15' 2ghz, with antiglare, and with glossy?
